Process and Standards Group (PSG)

The PSG met in November. The topic of the focus meeting was the nature of Criterion’s engagement with the group and how it can be refined and made more effective, and the group recommended holding one meeting each year as face-to-face only.

The plenary session received updates on in-flight activities including Group Risk Quotes and Protection Policy Retention, and approved an update to Criterion’s Publication and Change Policy.

Standards Technical Architecture Group (STAG)

Criterion will continue to liaise with the STAG on the technical direction of Standards, and how the emergence and adoption of new technologies will shape their future.

There have been no recent meetings with the group, but Criterion expects to be in touch with the Group in December with a view to arranging a discussion of experience to date with OpenAPI-based standards. 

Standards projects

Occupation Codes List Update

Update Implementation Group

Supporting industry adoption of the revised occupation codes standard used in quotations and new business processes. 

An issue was highlighted caused by differing Capitalisations between the v3.1 Customer list and the v2.0 Occupations that appear in the v3.1 Combined list. These changes have been published.

Future Milestones - Q4 2023

  • A further meeting will be arranged for December 2023 to review current development plans.

Group Risk Quotes and Placement

Project to develop Standards for Group Risk Quotes (GRQ); similar Re-Pricing and Rate Review processes; and Placement.

The GRQ Standards technical development to deliver JSON and OpenAPI Standards for GLA for New Business, Rate Review and Re-Pricing has begun with the Draft A Standards expected to be published in Q4 2023. 

Some analysis for the Placement process has been carried out internally with a domain model produced.

Future Milestones - December

  • Continue technical development of the GRQ Standards for GLA New Provider, Rate Review and Repricing for Request and Response;
  • Check with Working Group the scope and timescales for GRQ Placement for GLA before continuing with detailed requirements gathering.

Protection Policy Retention

Develop standards supporting communication to advisers and other distributors of events in relation to protection policies that might put at risk continuing cover.

Progress

  • Working Group meeting to review outcomes from Events questionnaire and agree event scope;
  • Commenced development of Business Requirements Document for review by Working Group.

Future Milestone - December

  • Continue to develop Business Requirements Document for review by Working Group.

BAU Change Requests

Ongoing activity in relation to maintenance of current Standards via change management process.

Progress

  • Budget 2023 impact analysis continues – including assessment of autumn budget statement on 18 Nov 23;
  • Revised Publication and Change Policy approved at the PSG meeting in November.

Future Milestone - December

  • Hold 1-to-1 meetings with industry participants to assist understanding of impact of LTA removal;
  • Develop initial list of potential CRs resulting from abolition of Lifetime Allowance (LTA).
