Process and Standards Group (PSG)
Providing detailed Governance of the evolution of Criterion Standards.
Progress this Month:
The PSG met on 18 August to discuss project priorities for the following 12 months. The Group recommended a plan that is a hybrid of two presented as possible options. The recommendation was considered and accepted by the Standards and Governance Executive at its September meeting.

Standards Technical Architecture Group (STAG)
Providing technical Governance to Criterion Standards.
Progress this Month:
Further development of Criterion’s approach to extending technology support for Standards into JSON and OpenAPI.
Future Milestones:
Continued involvement in JSON & OpenAPI activities.
Standards Activities
Letter of Authority Standards Development
Development Project to develop Standard to support the Letter of Authority fulfilment process for DB, DC Pensions, Annuities, Protection and Investment Products.
Progress this Month:
Phase 3 – Protection:
Logical Model and XML schema and MIG Standards development completed and internal QA being conducted.
Phase 4 – LoA Request:
LoA Request Working Group call held and progress made with documenting Request Data Items.
Future Milestones:
November: Logical Model, XML schema and MIG Standards will be published to the Working Group for review and further Standards activity suspended until Q1 2022 to secure appropriate industry involvement in review process.
November: LoA Request data items to be formally documented in a BRD for Working Group review and a meeting to be organised with Working Group to discuss.
Occupation Codes List 2020 Update Implementation
Supporting industry adoption of the revised Occupation Codes Standard used in quotations and new business processes.
Progress this Month:
A meeting was held on 14 October 2021 to further discuss the implementation approach of both the v2.0 and v3.0 Occupation Codes Lists. The Implementation Group agreed the approach combining use of both lists. A small number of suggested changes have been identified.
Future Milestones:
November: Implementation Group members continue to contact the Trading Partners they work with.
Criterion to formally document the agreed implementation approach and to address the identified changes in the v3.0 list.
Group Risk Quotes
Standards Development project to develop Standards for Group Risk Quotes and Rate Review or Re-Pricing.
Progress this Month:
Workshops concluded on the deep-dive into GRQ Non-Member Data and Member Data and a High level Domain Model completed. This has identified nearly 300 Data Items to be included in the Standards. As such, the forecast end date is at risk, and will be replanned once the Data Requirements have been validated with the Working Group.
Future Milestones:
November: Data Requirements being documented for replay to the Working Group and being completed by Group Risk product type commencing with GLA. This will be published to the Working Group and a meeting organised to review.
BAU Change Requests
Bulk Valuation enhancements, FCA Reference Number changes and FIT Data Patterns Junior ISA/SIPP change.
Progress this Month:
- Bulk Valuation enhancements completed and undergoing QA.
- No activity this month in relation to FCA Reference CRs.
Future Milestones:
November: Complete publication of Bulk Valuation v1.1 Provisional Build 2.
Commence Junior ISA/SIPP changes to FIT Data Patterns.
COVID-19 Update
The Criterion Team continues to work from home successfully in response to the current COVID-19 situation.
We are well placed to continue with our Standards commitments whilst recognising that operational constraints may make it harder for Working Group Members and other interested parties to engage with us fully. We will continue with our deliveries and keep the PSG and other interested parties updated regarding any unavoidable impact.
