We recently gifted a new lawnmower to our charity partner, Waverley Care to help with the upkeep of the grounds at its Residential Support Centre, Milestone.
Normally we would spend a full day gardening at Milestone each year to help with the maintenance, however, this has not been possible due to COVID restrictions. So when we heard that Milestone’s lawnmower was irreparable, we jumped at the chance to finance a replacement.
Milestone is a residential service for people living with HIV or hepatitis C who need support and space to focus on their physical and emotional health at times when they’re struggling to manage.
The team at Milestone have also played their part in supporting the Covid-19 response in the Lothians, providing an interim care facility for people at risk of homelessness who’ve been discharged from hospital after Covid treatment.
The 2.5 acre garden at the facility, maintained entirely by its fantastic volunteers, is one if it’s key assets, providing a space where residents can spend time outdoors, with proven benefits for their mental health and wellbeing.
It’s important to us to help ensure this space continues to support those impacted by HIV and hepatitis C and contribute in any way we can to the brilliant work that Waverley Care does.
